And so it goes … this year I’ve gone from doing nothing (thank you Covid) to booking myself sideways!  Yes, back on the show circuit and trying to get myself back into the swing of working daily, and what plans I have …

First, it’s the Shoreline Artists Studio Tour (July 8th & 9th), then Art on the Fence (August long weekend), then The Bruce Pennisula Society of Artists Studio Tour (August 26th & 27th), then Shoreline Artists Winter Spirit Show (October 27 & 28) and  a Christmas Show in Owen Sound first week of December (haven’t heard whether I’m definitely accepted yet).

What has driven me to all of this activity?  I’d say it’s the fact that I haven’t seen any of you in AGES and the withdrawal has been painful!  I’m even booking a class of sorts some time in August just so I can re-engage with previous students, so you know I’ve been isolated for a while!

And, Covid, eh?  Don’t know what it did for you guys — but my mom died during covid (after being with us for a while), son got sick during shut down (and boy, that was fun), and so on.  We could all whine a river, eh? But, we’re not going to do that … at least I’m not.  I’m getting back to work and looking forward to engaging with my community!  I’m on the Executive for the Shoreline Artists, have volunteered with the local theatre, and have jumped back into meditation practice with a vengeance, teaching teapot making to the Durham Guild in June …  Now if I could only find a painless way to give up sugar and dairy, painless being the operative word here!

So, I’m working away, and have plans to keep the blog more active in the future … while at the same time posting everywhere, etc., and actually making stuff!   I hope I haven’t bitten off more than I can chew, but one of my old bosses told me once, ‘if you want something done, give it to a busy person’, and here I am.  If any of you feel the need to come and wax pots or punch holes in Christmas Trees, give me a buzz!

Hope this find you all well … and that we see each other soon.

Ta,

Susan McD
