True Colours Gallery

Every once in a while I like to leave the dark side and make work in colour, especially in summer when the water and sky beckon, and maybe throw on the music to match!  It didn’t seem right to have this work and my black ink work in the same gallery.  The result is this new page…

This work goes through a lengthy process, made with layers and layers of watercolour paint on a surface that is first blended with paper fibre and gesso on canvas.  When the piece is finished several coats of matt spray varnish is applied to seal the work and protect it from unltraviolet rays etc.  The work does not need to be under glass with this protection.

I hope you will find my esthetic in these colorful pieces with my usual themes of light (as in humour), love and loss — whether it’s synapses flashing  or lovers lost in time — and that you will be moved to hang them on your walls.

Call me at 905-753-2731 to view the work.
